Greetings,

It might sound like a strange commandment, but God has instructed us to love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. That might seem odd because after all, how do you force yourself to love someone? Yet it reveals an important truth: love is a decision, not just an emotion. We can actually “set” our hearts to love God.

After Christ came, He took what is called the greatest commandment a step further, by commanding us to also ‘love one another.’

John 13:34 (NKJV) – “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”

As true believers, we shouldn’t ever be indifferent or apathetic toward others. That’s true regardless of who they are, what they believe, their financial status, their education, or politics. Christians must grow beyond the petty differences that divide us and love others as Jesus loves us. And remember this: He loved us while we were still sinners!

Heavenly Father, teach me to love others the way that You love me. Would You create in my heart the same kind of love that You have for all mankind? Help me learn to love the way You love!

Today, I’m worshiping with Bebe Winans and “I Fell in Love with God.”

Greetings,

What do you believe to be the most important things in life? Are you seeking fame, finances, long life, or relationships? Jesus said that if we would seek first the Kingdom of God, all the other things that we need and pursue, that He would supply them for us. To truly seek His Kingdom, we must first seek Jesus Christ, the King of the Kingdom!

Psalm 37:4 (NKJV) – “Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.”

Lord Jesus, I want You to be my greatest treasure and the joy of my life. I desire to pursue You with my whole heart. Create in me a desire for even more of You. Lord, help me make You the central focus of my life.

Greetings,

God is delighted when we demonstrate His love to the others.

1 Timothy 5:21 (NKJV) – “I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing with partiality.”

God wants us to treat everyone as He treats us, not as we might think they deserve to be treated. Like us, they too were created in God’s very own image and likeness. We cannot be partial to one person while being prejudiced against another and think that God is pleased.

We all need God’s love and acceptance. People around us are broken and suffering. Shouldn’t we try to see them as God does? God might tell us something about them that will help us minister to their hearts.

Father, help us to always love others, regardless of their personalities, ethnicity, class, or status, and regardless of where they live. Help us to live without prejudice or partiality, and to treat everyone as our equals, as people who are like us, and who needed a Redeemer.

Greetings,

When you first give your heart to God, one of the lies that the enemy will tell you is that now you must be perfect. Of course he is lying. He knows that you are still human and will fail. When you do make a mistake and come to realize that you’re still living in a weak and imperfect body, he will then loudly declare that you’ve sinned, and therefore God will certainly and sternly reject you. The next tactic he will employ will be to make you feel overwhelmed with shame.

How do you defeat these lies of the enemy? One way is to live in a continual state of humility before the Lord. All we have to say is, “Lord, I thank You that I stand forgiven though I am weak. Forgive me for each time that I have failed You. I thank You for grace.”

David sinned horribly, but he found mercy. That was even before Christ had come to earth to atone for our sins. How much more is forgiveness available to those who stumble today, after we consider what Jesus did on the cross for us? When you’ve blown it, don’t listen to the enemy. Instead pray as David did:

Psalm 51:1 (NKJV) – “Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions.”

Father, today I thank You for the blood of Jesus that cleanses my heart from all sin and unrighteousness. Forgive me where I have erred. I thank You today that I am clean in Your sight. Not because of anything I’ve done, but because of the sacrifice of my Lord and Savior.

Today, I’m worshiping with Donnie McClurkin and “Create in Me a Clean Heart.”
