Stay inspired in the word.

Ever notice how unity is seldom achieved by seeking unity for its own sake? It is rather discovered when we focus on the same objectives.

Question: if we humans would sincerely seek to please God, would such things as racism, hate, envy, cruelty, violence, war, selfishness and other problems even exist?

Think about this: if two people, beginning miles apart, will lift up Christ and draw near to Him, it’s much like moving from the two bottom corners of a triangle toward its apex. Even if they begin miles apart, the triangle will automatically converge as we get closer to Christ. Everything that has divided us will be left behind. Since the ground is level at the foot of the cross, the cross becomes the great equalizer for mankind!

On the other hand, when we fail to elevate Christ or make Him part of the equation, our efforts to bridge the distance between ethnicities, cultures, and divisions always fall terribly short. Since God is love, when we truly know Him, it helps us also love our brother.

Father, help us discover the value in one another. It is so much easier to see another person’s worth when we draw closer to You. I pray that You would heal the divisions that threaten to tear our world apart, in Your Precious Name! We are all Adam’s children, and the sons and daughters of God.

Have you ever wanted God to guide you to the correct path when making an important decision? Life is filled with many options and choices. It’s easy to take the wrong path. That can keep us from moving forward in the right direction. But notice what God has promised to those who seek His will:

Isaiah 42:16 (NKJV) – “I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.”

Today, I pray for Your guidance and leadership in every area of my life. I know that I will prosper when I take the path You have chosen for me. Lead me the same way You led Israel, by making Your will known to me. Israel knew which direction to travel because You led them with a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Their way was made obvious. Make Your path clear and certain to me as well, as You guide my steps in the decisions I will make, in Jesus Name!

Greetings,

God has a way of letting us come from behind to win in the last minutes of the game. Sometimes the enemy forgets this and rejoices too soon. It’s much like the last few seconds of the Super Bowl and your team is trailing, while the opposing team has already begun to celebrate.

But then out of nowhere, a pass comes sailing across the field to a receiver who is waiting, all by himself. Touch down!!  There is no flag on the play as the score changes—and your team has won!

This has happened time and time again in scripture. Think about Joseph in Egypt, Israel at the Red Sea, David before Goliath, and Daniel in the lion’s den. Are you beginning to understand how committed God is to you—even when it looks like there’s no way possible for you to make it? Because God has the final say, when you get knocked down, just get up again! When it seems so dark that the sun couldn’t possibly shine again, keep believing!

Micah 7:8 (NKJV) – “Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness, The LORD will be a light to me.”

Father, today I thank You for giving me the assurance that even when I stumble and fall, You will help me climb back to my feet again. I realize that I’m not perfect, but You are. I’m also weak, while You are strong. So today I declare that by Your grace I will recover from whatever troubles comes my way. Because of Your commitment to me, I’m going to make it. Thank You, Lord!

Greetings,

People are searching for deeper and more intimate worship. We were made to worship God and to behold His glory. This type of worship also precedes transformation. Intimacy in worship should become the earnest, sincere desire of every believer.

One of the best ways to enter into God’s Presence is not to speak or sing about Him, but directly to Him. David said that we should enter into His gates with thanksgiving, which is offering gratitude and thanks directly to the Lord. Instead of merely saying, “I’m grateful for what God have done for me,” why not begin to recall and name those blessings?  

We should be able to handle that pretty well, but what comes next? Have you ever tried singing directly to the Lord?

Psalm 96:1 (NKJV) – “Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! Sing to the LORD, all the earth.”

The psalmist didn’t mean to sing about God, but rather to Him. At times, we can stumble in our thanksgiving because our vocabulary might be limited as we attempt to express our love and emotions to God. Singing words that others have written can be a powerful way to express our own feelings, if we sing them to God rather than just merely joining in during a “congregational” song service. Try it the next time you’re in church, and especially in your personal devotions. Sing to the Lord!

Father, I want to see Your glory. My desire is to worship You from the depths of my heart in intimate and sincere worship. I want to give You the glory You deserve. You are worthy of the deepest and most heartfelt adoration that I can offer. You are worthy!
