Stay inspired in the word.

Greetings,

Do we ever think about improving our own character or changing the bad habits that we’ve formed? What should godly behavior or attitudes look like that we can reflect them in our daily lives?

Psalm 119:59 (NKJV) - “I thought about my ways, And turned my feet to Your testimonies.”

When we compare our lives with God’s Word, we see the areas where we need to change. His Word is like a mirror that reflects exactly where improvement is needed—and then it provides a helping hand that we may become more like Christ. Most people would never step through the door of their house without first at least glancing in the mirror. We shouldn’t go a day without looking into the mirror of God’s Word either.

God, I pray that Your Word would search the depths of my heart and my desires. Purify and wash me with Your Word and make me more like You—my God and the One I most admire!

We can never comprehend or remember all that has been written in the Bible. That isn’t required of us. It is true that the more we learn about God, the more powerful we can become. Martin Luther began the Protestant Reformation and transformed the world by standing upon just six words of scripture that God had burned into his soul: “The just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17).

The key to your breakthrough is to hunger for God, allow Him to speak to you from His Word, then believe and declare the Word that He has ignited in your heart.

Mark 16:20 (NKJV) – “And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.”

The Lord has promised to confirm the Word that we proclaim with accompanying signs. If we never read or learn His Word, how can we ever proclaim it in faith?

Dear Jesus, begin a new cosmic shift in our world—and let it begin in me. Increase my hunger for Your Word each day, each week, each month, and each year. Set my soul aflame as I seek You, learn Your Word. Let my life be blessed by Your approval and accompanied by Your power!

When Noah sent a dove out from the ark, it was looking for a place to rest.

Genesis 8:8-9 (NKJV) – “He also sent out from himself a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground. [9] But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark to himself.”

The story of the dove is an analogy about the Holy Spirit looking for a place to dwell. He is always searching for a resting place. Unfortunately, the dove found no place to land and had to return to the ark.

When God looks for a place to rest, are the hearts of His people open and is His church ready to receive Him? Is Inspire Church calling for Him to draw close and bless us? Our greatest earthly role is to provide our hearts as temples where the Holy Spirit can dwell.  

Come Holy Spirit! Rest upon us … dwell in us. May I never grieve Your precious Holy Spirit with bad attitudes, unbelief, or thoughts and deeds that would prevent You from resting among us.

In this broken world, filled with strife, negativity and doubt, what type of sounds are you projecting each day? Hopefully, it is the sound of victory! 

Acts 16:25 (NKJV) – “But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.”

In spite of the pain that Paul and Silas were experiencing after the indignity of having been arrested, beaten, bound with chains and thrown into prison, the only words we hear from them are those of praise and worship to God. Not one word of grumbling, disappointment, pain, or fear was spoken! 

As they began to sing and bless the Lord, the prisoners heard their songs of praise. That must have been different from the response of most newly arrested inmates— and it made the others who were in jail sit up and listen. Paul and Silas’ worship changed the atmosphere inside a prison. The result was that not only were they set free, but so were the other prisoners! Revival broke out among hardened criminals. Even the jailer and his family were saved and baptized. Hmmm, I just wonder … if we worshiped more and grumbled less, would things change for the better in our lives too?

Dear Jesus, oh how I thank You for being my Savior! You are wonderful beyond words, beautiful beyond description, and amazing beyond comparison. I love You!
