Greetings,

Can you imagine how many times the people of God have tried and proven that His Word is true?

Psalm 12:6 (NKJV) – “The words of the LORD are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times.”

The words of the old song go, “He has never failed me yet…Every promise He has kept.” We can rely upon the promises that God has given to us.

Father, in an unstable and unreliable world, Your Word has remained steadfast and true. I thank You that every syllable is as pure as refined silver. You have proven Your promises to me over and over again. I love Your Word!

Today, I’m worshiping with Jeremy Riddle and “You’re Beautiful.”

Greetings,

The biggest rewards come when we take the biggest risks. On one occasion, Jesus told His disciples to let down their nets into the ‘deep’ water:

Luke 5:4 (NKJV) – “When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch."

The deep means there is greater danger. Too many people want to play it safe by staying close to the shore. Even though they have never ‘stretched’ their faith, they can’t understand why they aren’t as greatly blessed as others.

Lord, I want to believe You for ‘greater’ things. I don’t want to play it safe the rest of my life or be content with mediocrity. Help me to stretch my faith, that I may accomplish much more for the Kingdom of God!

Today, I’m worshiping with Free Chapel and “He’s Been Faithful.”

Greetings,

In the 400 years between the Old and New Testament periods, Israel lived without a prophet, a vision, or a Word from God. There was only silence from heaven when they prayed. As God explained to the Prophet Malachi, their attitude was responsible for a closed heaven.

Malachi 1:13 (NKJV) – “You also say, 'OH, WHAT A WEARINESS!' And you sneer at it," Says the LORD of hosts. "And you bring the stolen, the lame, and the sick; Thus you bring an offering! Should I accept this from your hand?" Says the LORD.”

God’s people had begun to feel that going to church was a drudgery and a “weariness.” Instead of offering Him their best sacrificial animals, they were even bringing God their sick and lame livestock as offerings. Sometimes we need to check the level of our spiritual passion.

A good question to ask ourselves is, how do we feel about going to God’s House to worship Him? Do we look forward to being in church, or is it a nuisance to get dressed on Sunday morning and drive a few miles to where other believers are gathered? Are our hearts filled with joy at the thought of going to the House of the Lord each week?

Another question: is our worship the best we can offer or do we hold back? God deserves our best.

Father, today I want to worship You with all my heart! My soul longs to enter into Your Presence with other believers and to fervently worship You in spirit and in truth!

Today, I’m worshiping with Clint Brown and “I Have a Friend.”

Greetings,

Preaching is intended to help us better understand the life giving principles that are found in the Word of God. It was never meant to be entertaining. The nation of Israel was carried away into captivity because they began to think that the Word of God was for their amusement, rather than allowing it to change their lives.

Ezekiel 33:32 (NKJV) – “Indeed you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they do not do them.”

We should value the teaching of God’s Word much more than watching a favorite sports team, movie or the daily news. After all, the purpose of scripture is to help us grow closer to God.

If we could see the human spirit as our Heavenly Father does, I wonder what we would see. Would our souls be shriveled and malnourished, while our outward appearance is healthy and strong?

Thank You, Lord, for allowing us to hear the preaching of God’s Living Word, week after week. Many people in our world do not have that privilege. They have never even heard Your Name.

Today, I’m worshiping with Valley Creek Worship and “There Is Always More.”
