Greetings,

Incredible blessings always await those who go to the House of God! In my personal devotions, I’ve been deeply impacted by the marvelous promises we read in the Book of Psalms that are given to those who worship corporately with God’s people on a regular basis.

Of course, when the psalms were written, there were no air-conditioned automobiles, super highways, or comfortable buildings with sound systems. People were concerned about dangers they might encounter as they journeyed long distances to the House of God. But because they were faithful to attend, their blessings were multiplied a thousand-fold. Listen to this.

Psalm 84:10 (NKJV) – “For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.”

In our day, it may be difficult for some to attend the House of God, but for reasons other than the pilgrims who were going up to Jerusalem. Some cannot leave their homes because of illness. Some struggle with transportation. God understands. But whenever it’s possible, we should not miss being in God’s House. A blessing of multiplication is promised to those who faithfully come to worship. One day is equal to a thousand spent anywhere else.

Lord, thank You for providing a place of meeting where I can assemble with other believers to worship You together. There is nothing like being in Your house and giving You the worship that You deserve. Each time we worship in Your Presence, I always receive much more than I could possibly give. You are amazing!

Today, I’m worshiping with ORU and “Draw Me Close to You.”

Greetings,

Thank God, our sins are gone! They have been totally removed and washed away by the blood of Jesus! GONE FOREVER!

Psalm 103:12 (NKJV) – “As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.”

We did nothing to deserve it—and we certainly didn’t earn it! It’s because of God’s goodness that He has removed our transgressions. While it didn’t cost us a thing, it cost Christ everything!

Thank You, my Lord! Thank You for shedding Your precious blood for me. Thank You for paying such a terrible price that the peace of God can dwell in my heart! I am forgiven. I am clean.

Greetings,

It seems that misery really does love company! I say that because bad news always gets everyone’s attention. It sells. The networks would be in trouble if it didn’t. Suppose they had to stop publishing all the bad news for seven days? We would probably be a lot better off!

There is actually a book that is filled with incredibly good news. That’s its central message. It’s called the Bible. Strange how people believe the Word of God does the opposite! It doesn’t cramp our style. Rather it is intended to give us life.

A man asked Jesus what he could do to have eternal life. Jesus answered in Matthew 19:16b (NKJV) “….if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

Heavenly Father, Your commandments give me life because that’s what Your Word is all about! May we learn to trust in Your direction, for You are a GOOD GOD! I am blessed because I know that Your Word sets me free and gives me victory. It contains the principles for how I may live a life that is without shame or regret. But then it also instructs me how I can become Yours forever and be with You in the world to come. Thank You for the really GOOD NEWS!

Greetings,

We read in Psalm 145:9 (NKJV), “The LORD is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.”

How do we know that God is always good to us? During times of blessing, we often take His goodness for granted. But in times of great challenge and difficulty, His goodness can be more clearly witnessed and appreciated.

What do I mean by that? When the seas part, or we are being sustained in a wilderness, it’s easy then to see God’s hand at work, right?

But we should also know that if God’s Grace has carried us this far, it is also proof of His goodness. We didn’t get to where we are by ourselves and He didn’t have to help us.

God guides and protects us each day. That’s truly amazing! He really does deserve our highest praise!

May God smile upon you and continually extend His grace and favor to you. May He keep you by His great power and grant you His everlasting mercies!

Lord, thank You for bringing me to where I am today. I’ve come this far by Your strength and goodness. I’m not yet where I someday hope to be, but I’m not where I started either. I can look back over my life and see the many times I wouldn’t have made it without You. Thank You for all You’ve done for me.
