Greetings,

Saturday is the day in the Holy Week that is often referred to as Silent Saturday. That’s the day between Christ’s crucifixion and His resurrection. It was the day that Heaven was silent.

What made this day all the more painful for the disciples was they had hoped that Christ would have redeemed Israel and restored to them the kingdom. But their dreams were crushed by what had happened at Calvary.

We have all had days like that, days when it seemed that God let us down, Heaven forgot us, the angels turned away and our hopes were crushed; days It seems like God is no longer hearing.

But child of God, keep believing! Tomorrow is Resurrection Sunday. Heaven is still at work, God is remains on His throne and Satan will be defeated! The very blood of Jesus that seemed to be evidence of Christ’s defeat will be the proof His victory forever, even though today Heaven is silent.

Jesus, thank You for paying such an awful price to save me. Help me never doubt You even when it seems that heaven is quiet. You still care, Your love is faithful and true. I love You so much.

Today I’m worshiping to an old hymn called There Is A Fountain sung by David Phelps

Today is Good Friday, the day our Savior was crucified for our sins. Why is it called “Good” Friday? It certainly wasn’t good for Jesus! No, not hardly. What happened 2,000 years ago on this very day was for OUR good, but it cost our Lord everything.

As we prepare for Easter, we are overwhelmed by what Christ suffered. Remember that Divinity was wrapped in humanity; He who was sinless took our sin; the One who is worthy of all praise was cursed and reviled; He who is eternal, experienced the pain of death. When we could not ascend to Him, He came down to us. When we couldn’t purchase our own freedom, God did it for us with the blood of His own Son.

What is so amazing is that He didn’t have to do it … but He did! Although it cost Him dearly, it really was for our benefit. That’s why this day will always be called, “Good Friday!”

Lord, thank You for the pain You suffered for me. Thank You for enduring rejection, nails, and a crown of thorns. I love You. After all You’ve done, how could I not? You are the dearest and best. Oh Lamb of God, I declare that You are worthy!

Today, I’m worshiping with Naomi Raine and “Revelation 19:1.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!

Greetings,

Thursday of the Holy Week is known as Maundy Thursday. Maundy comes from the Latin word mandatum. It means command. The reason this day is named that is because of the new commandment that Jesus gave His disciples during the Last Supper.

John 13:34 (NKJV) A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

Christ then illustrated what love means by stooping down and washing the disciples’ feet. Imagine the King of Glory doing such a thing!

To truly love others means to serve them with gladness. Love gives. Paul described the characteristics of love in 1 Corinthians 13.

After all that Jesus did for us, we should pause and think about how we treat others. Isn’t it true that we sometimes take those for granted who are the dearest to us and most deserving of our love?

Father God, help me fulfill the commandment to love others the way that You love me. Place your kindness and gentleness in my heart. Help me to be patient and forgiving. You have been better to me than I deserve. Give me grace to be better to others than they might have been to me.

Today I’m worshiping with Let Me See Jesus by Matt Redman

We love and bless you,

Greetings,

On Holy Wednesday, Christ stayed in the area of Bethany where His friend Lazarus lived with his two sisters, Mary and Martha. It was during His stay in Bethany, and as He dined with a leper that He had cleansed named Simon, that Mary came and anointed Him with ointment. It is one of the greatest acts of worship that we find in scripture.

Matthew 26:6-7 (NKJV) And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the Leper, [7] a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table.

Matthew, Mark and John all record this event, but John is the one who gives us Mary’s name. Because of her devotion, Jesus promised that she would always be remembered wherever the Gospel was preached for this act of selfless worship.

Question: what do we want to be remembered for? For building a great empire? Having lots of money? Where we lived or what we drove? I can think of no greater thing for which to be known than as a worshiper and lover of God.

Lord Jesus, I love You, and I want to love You more. I long to do so with all of my heart, soul, mind and strength. My soul cries out, Worthy is the Lamb!
