Greetings,
We could never overstate the influence a family altar has upon the members of your family. When parents truly know Christ and are intimately acquainted with His love and beauty, they have no greater desire than for their children to personally know Him too. Knowing Jesus will help them more than any other factor in their lives.
The best way to ensure that this happens is to introduce them to the Lord at a very young age in family devotions. Listen to Paul’s comments to Timothy:
2 Timothy 1:3-5 (NKJV) – “I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day, [4] greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy, [5] when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt FIRST in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.”
The devotions of a believer named Lois enabled her to successfully pass on her faith to her daughter, Eunice; who then successfully imparted that same faith to her son, Timothy. One of the best ways to do this is to take the time each day to have devotions together as a family. Read a passage from the Word of God, explain the principal it teaches, then pray and worship God for a few minutes as a family. You don’t have to recreate an entire church service!
Lord, I thank You for giving me a glimpse of how wonderful You are! I am convinced: there isn’t another like You. Jesus You are the joy of my life. I want my family to know You. Help me pass on my faith to those I love.

Greetings,
Have you ever tried to do something that was actually easy, but someone kept getting in your way and slowing you down by trying to tell you how to do it? I wonder how often we get in God’s way by repeatedly telling Him how we think He should handle things? We give Him our opinions rather than submitting to His wisdom and counsel. So God patiently stands back and waits until we grow tired of trying to tell Him to do it our way. Perhaps that’s why He spoke these words to Jehoshaphat.
2 Chronicles 20:17 (NKJV) – “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, STAND STILL and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you."
Father, help me to confidently stand still as I put my trust in You. Not only do You know what needs to be done, but You know far better than anyone else how to do it. Thank You for loving me so much, You delight in fixing things for me! Thank You for guiding my steps and choosing my path for me.

Greetings,
As Adam’s kin we all deal with the weaknesses and flawed nature of our humanity. However, God’s love for us and His willingness to embrace us each time we become distracted and err is astonishing.
Zechariah 1:3 (NKJV) – “Therefore say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Return to Me," says the LORD of hosts, "and I will return to you," says the LORD of hosts.”
Israel was in big trouble! They had turned away from God and forfeited their glorious future for slavery under the Babylonians and the Medo-Persians. They would suffer terribly for being away from under God’s favor and protection, then realize their mistake and turn back to God. Time after time they had gone through this cycle of indifference toward God and of making the wrong choices.
As the philosopher Santayana stated, “Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it.” Everyone talks about the history of our nation and even their own personal history, but what about human history?
How many times must society suffer the catastrophic effects of turning away from God? Even worse, how many times must we experience it personally before we choose to stay devoted to Him? It’s time to return to God individually, then as a nation, and finally, as a world. The very act of returning to Him will restore His favor to us. The good news is that an awakening is occurring in the world and church attendance is soaring.
Father, help us turn to You, today with all of our hearts! Please forgive us for drifting away and believing that we could make it without You. We cannot. Heal our world of the terrible conditions we have brought upon ourselves. Forgive humanity for ever thinking that we could make it without You. We love You and are grateful for Your constant love and acceptance.

Greetings,
Ever notice how unity is seldom achieved by seeking unity for its own sake? It is rather discovered when we focus on the same objectives.
Question: if we humans would sincerely seek to please God, would such things as racism, hate, envy, cruelty, violence, war, selfishness and other problems even exist?
Think about this: if two people, beginning miles apart, will lift up Christ and draw near to Him, it’s much like moving from the two bottom corners of a triangle toward its apex. Even if they begin miles apart, the triangle will automatically converge as we get closer to Christ. Everything that has divided us will be left behind. Since the ground is level at the foot of the cross, the cross becomes the great equalizer for mankind!
On the other hand, when we fail to elevate Christ or make Him part of the equation, our efforts to bridge the distance between ethnicities, cultures, and divisions always fall terribly short. Since God is love, when we truly know Him, it helps us also love our brother.
Father, help us discover the value in one another. It is so much easier to see another person’s worth when we draw closer to You. I pray that You would heal the divisions that threaten to tear our world apart, in Your Precious Name! We are all Adam’s children, and the sons and daughters of God.
